Analysis of Students’ Science Literacy Ability of Physics Education Study Program STKIP YDB Lubuk Alung
Abstract
Science Literacy is a skill that must be possessed by every student, especially in the Physics Education Study Program. Science literacy is the ability to use scientific knowledge and skills, identify questions and draw conclusions based on existing evidence and data. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of science literacy skills of students in the physics education study program, which then described the science literacy skills and offered several alternative ways to develop a culture of science literacy in the Physics Education Study Program, STKIP YDB Lubuk Alung. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method using inductive data analysis techniques. The subjects of this study were students of the Physics Education Study Program. The sample used was 20 students with a Random Sampling sampling technique. The instrument used was in the form of science literacy test questions from PISA and was analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the science literacy skills of students in the Physics Education Study Program, STKIP YDB Lubuk Alung were still relatively low.
